HOW TO SURVIVE WINTER IN NEW YORK
After a huge exodus of New Yorkers moved to Los Angeles to evade the dwindling quality of life, I wanted to compile a crowd-sourced document of things to improve wellness and create a network system of mental/physical/psychological support in a city that can otherwise be quite daunting in it’s colder months. Hundreds of friends, family, and strangers have contributed to this list.
If I am going to be present on facebook and be subjugated to it’s data-mining and information access compartmentalization, I may as well use it’s algorithmic functions to connect various working artists, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and travel-savvy friends in my network to find subletters, roommates, and housing kin. As more of us become decentralized in our home bases, this has become a resource for financially filling in the gaps to allow people to pursue their practices.
